The Coral - Electric Ballroom18 Sept 2018

It's hard to believe The Coral have been around for twenty two years having formed in 1996 in Hoylake, Merseyside. The band first emerged during the early 2000s and found early success with their debut album titled The Coral and the follow up with Magic and Medicine.

Tonight the band headlined Camden's legendary venue Electric Ballroom and still sounding new and exciting as they did in 2000.

McStrike

04 October 18

Posted at 7:38

Workers at McDonalds, Wetherspoons, TGI Fridays, Uber Eats and Deliveroo joined forces and staged coordinated strikes over pay. The planned strikes dubbed McStrike have been taking place in various cities across the UK. The series of walkouts is to highlight the issue over pay and zero hours contracts. Labour are 100% behind the strike with Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell showing his support and addressing the crowd. Labour stands firmly with those striking today for a living wage. No one should be on low paid insecure work and barely being able to survive on a day to day basis. McDonell has said the next Labour Government will protect workers rights.

Hollie Cook - Live at London's Scala 3 October 2018

Having shot a couple of weddings the past couple of weekends it was nice shooting some live music. Hollie Cook performing live at london's legendary music venue the Scala. She was part of the re-formed punk band The Slits before having a career as a solo artist. Hollie Cook released her third album 'Vessel Of Love' and describes her music as tropical pop. Cook was definitely having lots of fun on stage and being back in London. Unfortunately as a photographer we only get the first three songs. Looking forward catching Hollie play live again in London.

I love The Bull in Chislehurst. Friendly staff and a great location so it was a privilege and pleasure to photograph and be part of the Civil Partnership of Matt and Pete and be amongst their chosen friends and family. The registrar was on fine comedy form and definitely got to know Matt and Pete very well in the short space of time.

Claire & Michael's Wedding - Old Brook Barn 22 September 2018

29 September 18

Posted at 10:07

The forecast wasn't looking good for Claire and Michael's Wedding day but that wasn't going to stop them from having fun and the most memorable day. For me it was an absolute pleasure to capture those special moments. Most couples will be looking at the forecast days before and most will probably be thinking the worse but for Claire and Michael they knew this was the one thing out of their control and hopefully from the pictures you will see they had so much fun regardless of the weather, even when I dragged them across the grass to the secret garden for some photos in the rain. Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your day.

Another show using the FujiFilm X Series X-T20 camera. As small as it is this camera is amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on the X-T2 arriving this Saturday.

The Scala is always a testing venue with low light and lots of smoke so I was pleased with how these images had turned out with very minimal editing in Lightroom required.

Two amazing performaces from Brooke Bentham and Soccer Mommy and look forward seeing both again very soon.

The Kooks - Moth Club 5 September 2018

The Kooks played an intimate show at London's Moth Club, an ex servicemen's club in the heart of Hackney E9. Looking at past gigs photos online and the gold back drop on stage I was really looking forward to be shooting this show especially as it gace me a chance to test out the Fuji X-T20 camera with the 16-55mm Lens. An amazing little camera and the baby brother to the X-T2 which I'm in the process of purchasing but not great in low-light and this show was very low-light abd surprised I got the shots I did. Not my greatest work but thought I would share with you.

Reading Festival 2018 - Day Three

28 August 18

PLEASE DO NOT REPOST OR USE ANY OF THESE IMAGES WITHOUT PERMISSION

Due to my summer holidays it meant I was only able to shoot the third and final day of this years Reading Festival but the first time I got to drive to the festival with free parking thrown in to the mix. Got to the car park nice and early but underestimated how far away the car park was to the festival entrance. I actually got on a boat from Kings Meadow Carpark down the River Thames to get close to press and guest entrance. By the time I had got there I had missed the first band and the heavens opened and it constantly rained throughout the day until Kings Of Leon took to the stage for their headline slot.

Forgetting the travel and rain it was a good day and pleased to photograph both Peace and Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes surprise sets, Sports Team headlining the BBC Introducing Stage, the return of Hinds and definitely my favourite band of 2018 Shame. Kings of Leon closed Sunday night.

Chelsea Vs Manchester City - FA Community Shield 2018, Wembley Stadium

07 August 18

Posted at 8:10

Having supported Chelsea as long as I can remember this was my first Community Shield and I get to be close to the pitch and photograph it for Frozen In Motion. A typical pre-season friendly and can't take too much from it but definitely the two major poistives from the game was Manchester City's Phil Foden and Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi who both starred in England's Fifa U-17 World Cup Final Win. Neither looked fazed or out of place and I hope both play a part throughout the season and progress. Top players.

Standon Calling 2018 - Day 2

30 July 18

Posted at 11:00

Each year Standon Calling gets bigger and better. This was my fourth time shooting the festival but sadly due to other commitments I could only photograph day two with George Ezra headlining the main stage. Definitely the festival as the go to festival to see the next big artist or band. I finally got to see and photograph Shame who for me is the band of the moment. By far the best live performance I have seen in ages but hidden gems were Nelson Can and Ten Tonnes aka Ethan Barnett. Superb live sets from both. Strong performances from Genghar and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club before the headline act George Ezra took to the stage. I remember shooting a portrait of George Ezra at the Old Blue Last for Burberry on an iPhone 5. Back then you knew with the songs he performed that night he was always destined to headline a festival slot. Another quality line-up from Alex and his team at Standon and looking forward to see what 2019 brings.

Justice For Chinatown

25 July 18

Posted at 6:26

London’s Chinatown went on strike for five hours in response to what they call heavy-handed ‘fishing raids’ by immigration officers. The protest had been organised by the London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA).

Protestors was shouting “justice for Chinatown” and “enough is enough” as hundreds of restaurant owners, waiters and chefs along with supporters marched through Chinatown, past the Houses of Parliament to the Home Office before heading back to Chinatown.

The demonstration was prompted by an incident earlier this month, when an immigration raid on a Chinatown restaurant caused disturbance in the middle of the day.

FireFlies Tour 2018 - End of Tour

20 July 18

Posted at 9:11

My collection of iPhone images from FireFlies Tour 2018

I don't think I will ever be able to express or tell you the full story about being part of the FireFlies Tour family. It's definitely one you have to experience yourself.

FireFlie Riders are all here for the same reason. To raise awareness and vital funds to help beat blood cancer with Bloodwise. As with most people, cancer has affected friends & family and although not cancer related my mum passed away March 23 from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) so this tour was definitely in her memory.

We arrive very early in Geneva, travel to basecamp ready for the following eight days of cycling. 1000km, 23 mountain climbs until we arrive in Cannes. Hopefully the photo's will help you see what a wonderful experience this was and I couldn't have wished for a better group of riders to complete this emotional journey with.

As the Tour De France is in full flow eight of the mountain climbs in this years race have been completed by FireFlies riders in 2018, the most famous of them all is Alpe D'Huez which is Stage 12 of the Tour de France. As I watch the pro riders power there way up this mamouth climb it brings back emotional memories and a sense of achievement knowing that I was there in June but obviosuly a lot slower and probably look like I was in a lot more pain. It's 13.8 km (8.6 mi), with an average gradient of 8.1%, with 21 hairpin bends and a maximum gradient of 13%. All I could think of was the burger and chips waiting for me at the top. My official climb time was 2hr00min36sec. This was just one of the moutains we completed but for me the most memorable especially having just watched this on TV.

This was by far the hardest challenge of my life and one I will not forget.
